Abstract
The smart antenna technology for mobile communications has been the object of enormous worldwide interest during the last decade. The principal reason for the application of smart antennae is their potential for a large increase in capacity due to the rejection of inter- channel interference. in the present work, the switched-beam smart antenna that adjusts the radiation pattern to the communication scenario, by forming deep nulls in the direction of interfering signals, is developed. By using variable spatial techniques, the radiation pattern is adapted to optimize received signals.
