This document shows how to design a programmable logic controller.
This type of design involves several steps, but these steps were grouped in two
subsequent phases. The first phase deals with the design and implementation
of the hardware; the second phase covers the design and implementation of
the software. The Heathkit ET-3400 trainer and the MC6800 microprocessor
were used to build the programmable logic controller, because these tools are
used in the electrical engineering curriculum at the Universidad Polit6cnica
de Puerto Rico.
