| dc.description.abstract | This paper defines the concept of imaging technology, the particular
hardware needed to support it and the use of the optical disk as the medium
for the storage of electronic images. In order to have a better understanding
of the imaging technology, the different types of optical disks are mentioned
and a brief discussion on how imaging systems work and their unique
hardware is included. Finally, the steps leading to the development of the first
imaging system in Puerto Rico are presented. | en_US |
