Missing Magnet Defect Rate Improvement Project at the Cement Unit at Stryker Puerto Rico
Abstract
At Stryker Puerto Rico, there was a growing of customer complaints for the new Prep+ Cartridge. The complaints were generated due to units found without a component. This is a magnet that is placed on the back of the product that allows a connection that makes the product work. Without the magnet, the product is useless. Based on the recognized problem in the organization, an analysis with the application of DMAIC was done to identify the root cause. It was found that the cause of the problem was during the assembly process. Nevertheless, some opportunities were also found in the design of the product. Propositions of Quality
